BPM names 2025’s top consultants

Benefits and Pensions Monitor has named its Top Consultants for 2025, recognizing firms that deliver measurable value in the pensions and group benefits space.

The new cohort highlights organizations with standout strategies for employee well-being, retention, and strategic advisory.

Among this year’s honourees is Sutton Benefits & Pension, a Saskatchewan-based firm focused on putting people ahead of metrics. Its work with SMEs is grounded in values like “Love People,” “Make a Difference,” and “Stronger Together.”

“We strive to be dependable, approachable, and always available for our clients. These priorities ensure that our clients receive the highest level of service and support,” said President Andrea Hansen.

The firm’s client-first approach is reflected in the Sutton CREST, emphasizing Connection, Responsiveness, Expertise, Strategic Partnership, and Trust.

Its proprietary Employee Engagement Wheel helps align benefit offerings with organizational values—particularly for clients in industrial, mining, energy, and professional services.

Sutton reported a 97 percent retention rate among top clients in 2024. “We focus on partnering with companies that care for their employees and families, have a strategic focus, and are committed to acting on our advice,” Hansen added.

The firm also supports employee education, engagement, and financial literacy, and remains active in local community efforts. In 2023, Sutton moved into a 10,000-square-foot office designed to foster connection.

Also named to this year’s list is Maximus Rose Living Benefits Inc., a Canadian-owned consultancy focused on employee group benefits and retirement solutions.

With decades of leadership across insurance, health services, and HR, the firm helps clients modernize and optimize their benefit programs.

Maximus Rose’s offerings include group benefits design, benchmarking, wellness strategy, disability management, and cost containment.

It serves clients in the public, private, and non-profit sectors across Canada. Known for a data-driven approach, the firm focuses on aligning plans with organizational goals and delivering long-term impact.

Selectpath Benefits & Financial was also honoured in 2025. With more than 25 years in the industry, the firm offers customizable employee benefits, pension solutions, and financial planning services.

Selectpath operates across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, with accredited advisors who conduct needs assessments, manage implementation, and advise on flexible plan designs.

The firm’s emphasis on client attentiveness has supported high satisfaction and retention.
