From Quebec success to a nationwide mandate for institutional growth

After spearheading SLC Management’s growth in Quebec since 2022, Véronique Lauzière has been appointed senior managing director and head of Canadian business development and client relationships.
The C$408-billion asset manager said she will guide efforts to deepen institutional relationships and align services across private and public markets nationwide.
Based in Montreal, Lauzière will continue to report to Tim Boomer, senior managing director and head of North American business development and client solutions. Boomer said Lauzière’s leadership and industry knowledge have been instrumental in the firm’s development in Quebec and will support the next phase of its strategy in Canada.
“Her strategic vision, deep industry knowledge, and ability to foster strong client relationships will be critical as we continue to grow our presence in the Canadian market,” said Boomer. “We're excited to see her take on this expanded role leading our Canadian business development and client relationships team through its next phase of growth."
Lauzière has represented SLC Management on the Sun Life Quebec Leadership team, contributing to the asset manager’s presence in the region. “Alongside our growth strategy in other provinces, SLC Management is committed to establishing a coast-to-coast presence that caters to the diverse needs of our clients across Canada,” said executive chair Steve Peacher.
Lauzière’s background includes more than a decade of experience in consulting for pension plans, insurance companies, and other institutional investors. Her previous roles include associate partner at LifeWorks from 2021 to 2022, associate partner and principal at Morneau Shepell between 2018 and 2021, and principal at Willis Towers Watson from 2009 to 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University, is a CFA charterholder, and is a qualified actuary.
SLC Management is the institutional asset management business of Sun Life Financial Inc., offering traditional, alternative, and yield-oriented investment strategies across public and private fixed income markets and global real estate equity and debt.
