Dario will lead the firm's sales business in Quebec and Eastern Canada as VP, Institutional Business Development

CIBC Global Asset Management appoints Dario Morrone, CFA, CAIA, FCIA, FSA as Vice President, Institutional Business Development. Dario will report to Carlo DiLalla, Managing Director and Head of CIBC Institutional Asset Management. Dario joins the firm during a pivotal time as it continues to grow and serve the evolving needs of institutional investors.
Dario will lead the firm’s sales and business development efforts across Quebec and Eastern Canada by building and nurturing relationships with institutional investors, investment consultants, and key stakeholders. He will focus on building and strengthening relationships with defined benefit pension plans, defined contribution plans, foundations, endowments, insurers, and family offices among others. He will also play a key role in enhancing CIBC’s presence in the investment consultant channel and representing the firm at major institutional industry events.
Prior to joining CIBC Global Asset Management in 2025, Dario served as Principal and Senior Investment Consultant at Mercer. Building on his background as a retirement actuary, he advised institutional investors on asset allocation decisions, including portfolio structure reviews and manager selection. He began his financial career in 2012.
Dario earned his B.Sc. in Mathematics & Statistics and his M.Sc. in Statistics from McGill University. He is a CAIA charterholder and a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). He is also a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Montreal.
