Acera Insurance expands in Ontario with new partnership

Acera Insurance Services Ltd. is actively expanding its Acera Benefits division in Ontario, evidenced by its latest partnership with Hamilton-based Dominion Group Benefits.

This collaboration, finalized on May 1, follows closely after Green Benefits Group of Burlington, ON, became part of Acera Benefits.

Tony Fairfield, President of Group Benefits at Acera Insurance, expressed his enthusiasm about the new partnership. “We are pleased to welcome Dominion Group Benefits to our organization as we continually expand the reach of Acera Benefits,” he said.

Fairfield highlighted the deep industry experience of Ken Zeise and his team, who have delivered outstanding group benefits solutions for over 30 years.

“By combining our collective strengths and stability, we will provide a broader suite of benefits and retirement savings options to businesses of all sizes around the Hamilton and London regions,” he added.

Ontario is a current hotspot for mergers and acquisitions activity, a dynamic that attracted Dominion Group Benefits' founding principal, Ken Zeise, to Acera Insurance.

Zeise, who has led his firm independently since 1991, cited the integrity of client service as a critical factor in his decision to partner with Acera.

“I am pleased to know partnering with Acera Insurance will allow us to increase scale while ensuring our clients continue to receive personalized, unbiased solutions and guidance from our local team,” Zeise remarked.

The integration of Dominion Group Benefits into Acera Benefits will be completed in the upcoming months. Acera Benefits, a specialty division of Acera Insurance, is distinguished by its ability to offer value-added services that go beyond traditional benefits consultants.

This division helps Canadian employers develop competitive, cost-effective, and customized employee benefits plans adaptable to the changing landscape of health and wellness.

This partnership marks the third significant alliance formed by Acera Insurance in Ontario in 2024, demonstrating the brokerage’s commitment to maintaining a strong, independent, Canadian-owned presence in the local market.
