The organization says its Employee Assistance Program cleared the review on its first cycle
GreenShield Health has earned accreditation from the Council on Accreditation, and the organization said its Employee Assistance Program became the first digital-first EAP in Canada to reach the standard in its first review cycle.
The Council on Accreditation is an international accrediting body and a service of Social Current.
According to GreenShield, the review reached beyond the EAP to assess the quality frameworks, risk management practices, governance structures and operational capabilities that support care delivery across GreenShield Health.
GreenShield described the accreditation as independent validation of what it calls its payer-provider model, which combines benefits administration and health care delivery in a single ecosystem, GreenShield+.
That platform integrates coverage and claims with services including mental health, pharmacy, telemedicine and chronic disease management, the company said.
“This accreditation is a powerful confirmation of the model we have built at GreenShield,” said Zahid Salman, GreenShield’s president and CEO.
He said the model brings coverage, care and health insights together to create a more connected experience for Canadians.
For employers and plan sponsors weighing benefits partners, GreenShield positioned the recognition as a benchmark for clients, partners and governments choosing health services providers.
The organization, which describes itself as Canada’s only national non-profit health care and insurance organization, said demand is growing for more connected and accountable approaches to care.
“The accreditation reflects years of investment in building a scalable, integrated health services platform,” said Mark Rolnick, GreenShield’s executive vice-president.
GreenShield added that the standards applied through the process strengthen oversight, quality assurance and continuous improvement across the organization.
